According to Microsoft’s website, this new version of the browser is packed with features that support modern web applications, the latest rendering capabilities, and developer tools for all supported OS platforms. At the start of June, Microsoft rolled out the new version, based on Chromium open-source project, to all Windows 10 users through the Windows Update. While Chrome is still dominating the market with the lion’s share of roughly 64 percent, Microsoft still holds 6 percent of the market due to people who still use Internet Explorer.Įdge’s market share is expected to change as its compatibility with other operating systems grows.
Microsoft Edge is currently one of the top web browsers with a market share of approximately 2 percent.
